Alcon Advies was founded in 2008 to advice companies how to make their products and processes more sustainable. This is done by providing targeted and customer-specific consultancy on materials technology in general and textile specific issues in particular. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is always an important aspect in the advices of Alcon Advies.

Alcon Advies has carried out several assignments in which textile materials and processes are a central theme. These projects covered:

• road mapping in the protective textiles area
• environmental product development 
• energy conservation in the textile and carpet industry
• development of functional materials by application of nanotechnology and/or electronic devices (smart textiles)
• textile recycling
• environmentally friendly production processes, eq plasma technology
• data collection on textile materials, processes and products

Besides Alcon Advies has been very succesful in setting-up and submitting projects to the EU. Over 2008 and 2009 a 100% success rate has been reached (3 out of 3).

Alcon Advies advices are based on more than 20 years experience in innovative research in the textile, carpet and clothing industry. In addition, Alcon Advies has a broad network in these sectors and in relevant R&D-organizations, in the Netherlands and abroad.
